Weeks Lands Second-Consecutive SEC Award

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Arkansas freshman Lexi Weeks has been selected as the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week for the second-consecutive week following her remarkable performance at the John McDonnell Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

This is the third outdoor honor for the Cabot native and the fifth conference award of the year since her debut as a Razorback in Jan. 2016.

Weeks is currently the top outdoor pole vaulter in the NCAA by half-an-inch thanks to her personal-best clearance of 4.64/15-2 3/4 at the John McDonnell Invitational. The mark ranks the talented Razorback newcomer second in program history and currently fourth in the world.

Still navigating through her first collegiate campaign, Weeks has vaulted up the record books currently positioned as the third-best performer in NCAA history behind only Arkansas and NCAA record-holder, Sandi Morris (4.72/15-5 3/4) and 2015 NCAA outdoor champion, Demi Payne (4.71/15-5 1/2) of Stephen F. Austin.
