White Defeats Red in Annual Meet

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Razorback Swimming and Diving program began its season on Friday afternoon with the White team defeating the Red team, 135 to 120, in the annual Red-White Inter-squad meet inside the Arkansas Natatorium.

Senior Aiden Lister led all swimmers with three total wins for the White team, two individual victories coming in the 500 (4:58.81) and 1000-yard freestyle (10:08.06) and a victory in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:30.51). Junior Jessie Garrison recorded wins for the red squad in the 400-yard individual medley (4:21.90) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.16).

For the red team, junior diver Nicole Gillis took both the one-meter (311.62) and three-meter springboard (322.80) dives.

“They really raced each other. It was good to split them up into two teams and have some competition,” said head coach Neil Harper. “We got to see some good performances. I think they got to understand and believe in the training they have been doing in the weight room and the pool. I am just really happy with the team effort and look forward facing the opposition.”

The Razorbacks return to the pool in two weeks as Arkansas faces Drury on Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. inside the Arkansas Natatorium.
