Wing Shoots 65; Dahl Finishes Tied for Fifth
BY ANDRES FOCIL
ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Junior Adam Wing shot a blistering five-under par round of 65 and junior Andrew Dahl secured a top five individual finish on Sunday at the 2003 Southeastern Conference Golf Championships at the Sea Island Golf Club.
Wing polished off his career-best round with a 40-foot birdie putt on the 18th green to cap a memorable day on the par-70 course. The Broken Arrow, Okla., product recorded eight birdies on Sunday including four in a row on holes seven through 10. Wing’s round was the lowest recorded in the three-day tournament until Florida’s Brett Stegmaier carded a 64 later in the day on the way to the individual title.
Wing rebounded after shooting a 79 on Saturday. His 65 shattered his previous low round of 68 shot earlier this season at the Coastal Carolina Invitational. Wing has now recorded seven sub-70 rounds in his Razorback career including four this season.
