Winter's wrath strikes

AUBURN, Ala. – It was going to be a long road trip anyway.

The University of Arkansas women’s basketball team flew to Auburn, Ala., for an Southeastern Conference game. The team arrived Wednesday night, played and won on Thursday and was scheduled for a Friday morning departure to Columbia, S.C. for the next game on Sunday.

But then it snowed.

In fact, the Auburn/Opelika school district canceled classes Thursday night in the anticipation of measurable snowfall. When the Razorbacks woke up Friday morning all was good but it didn’t take long for the snow to start. It quickly blanketed the area and pushed Arkansas’ travels back a day.

The Razorbacks are scheduled to practice in Auburn and fly out to South Carolina Saturday morning.

Sunday’s game at South Carolina is televised by ESPN2.
