FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas women’s basketball team joins with the Northwest Arkansas Rotary Clubs to help with the Joplin (Mo.) Relief effort this week.
Several members of the Razorback women’s basketball team will be on location at Savor Restaurant to help with donation collection and to load the trucks from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday.
There are several donation efforts in the area and this particular collection point is focusing on hydrating drinks, energy bars, personal hygiene items such as toothbrushes and toothpaste, new bedding, new bath towels, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, baby formula, diapers, wipes, canned milk, tarps, work gloves, flash lights and batteries.
These items are part of a master plan with a distribution point in Joplin, Mo., to be sure they reach those in need.
In addition to the women’s basketball team’s efforts, other Razorback student-athletes are planning events in the coming weeks.
