Women's tennis begin NCAA Regional Saturday

FAYETTEVILLE – The 14th-ranked University of Arkansas Razorback women’s tennis team hosts the program’s first ever NCAA Tournament Regional tomorrow at the George M. Billingsley Tennis Center beginning at noon.After finishing the regular season with a 13-7 record and 8-3 in Southeastern Conference action, the SEC Western Division Champion Hogs set themselves up for a good chance to host the first and second rounds.This is Arkansas’ second straight bid to the tournament, as they reached the Elite Eight of last year’s NCAA Championships for the first time in program history.The Razorbacks look to excel with home-court advantage when they face the four-seed Oral Roberts Golden Eagles at 3 p.m. ORU (9-9) earned an automatic bid into the tournament by winning the Summit League.The first match on Saturday will be between the second-seed, Texas Christian Horned Frogs and the three-seeded Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Number 28 TCU (16-10) sports 16th-ranked Nina Munch-Soegaard as their top player, while No. 36 Tulsa (23-5) is in with their third-consecutive appearance.
