Women's track set for Florida Relays

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Razorback women’s track and field will continue the outdoor season with the 65th annual Florida Relays, Fri.-Sat., April 3-4. The Razorbacks will be represented by the sprinters, jumpers and relay teams at Pressly Stadium at Percy Beard Track.

Instead of heading south to the annual Texas Relays, the majority of the Razorback women will travel to Gainesville for the Florida Relays. With the Gators hosting the 2009 SEC Outdoor Championships, this weekend will be a great chance for the Hogs to adjust to Florida’s facility.

Senior Etienne Chaplin, however, will travel to Austin for Texas Relays to compete in the highly-competitive heptathlon, Wed.-Thurs., April 1-2. She will then join the team to compete in some events at Florida.

The Razorbacks will have 4×100-meter, 4×400-meter and sprint medley relays competing along with long jumpers, pole vaulters, short sprinters and long sprinters competing Friday and Saturday in Gainesville.

Razorback student-athletes hold the top marks in the SEC in four events: 800 meters (Jillian Rosen), 3,000-meter steeplechase (Megan Jackson), 5,000 meters (Catherine White) and long jump (Whitney Jones).

Live results can be found at ArkansasRazorbacks.com. A complete meet recap will be available at ArkansasRazorbacks.com shortly after the final event on each day of competition. For more information, visit ArkansasRazorbacks.com or GatorZone.com.
