Lysa Falls In Opening Round Of NCAA Singles

NCAA Singles Bracket

WACO, Texas – Junior Yuliya Lysa dropped her opening match in the NCAA Singles Championships at the Hurd Tennis Center on Wednesday.

The 49th-ranked Lysa, who was named one of 12 women’s tennis players to watch by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) last week, was beaten by No. 43 Zsofi Susanyi of California, 6-3, 6-2. The loss ends the junior’s season with a 20-10 record.

“We are all very proud of Yuliya for representing the Razorbacks here at the NCAA Championships,” said head coach Michael Hegarty. “I know that today’s result will be a great learning experience for Yuliya and I expect her to have a much larger impact on this event next year.”
