FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas head trainer Dean Weber released the following updated injury information regarding three Arkansas football student-athletes on Wednesday afternoon.
Junior offensive tackle Zac Tubbs and redshirt freshman defensive end Derek Moore both suffered left fibula fractures with associated ankle ligament tears in practice on Tuesday. Tubbs and Moore will undergo surgery early next week and will not play again this season. Recovery time for the injury is approximately six months.
Tubbs has started all five of the Razorbacks’ games this season at right tackle. Redshirt freshmen Matt Gilbow and Nate Garner will vie for time as Tubbs’ replacement. Moore appeared in the first three games of the 2004 campaign as a defensive reserve for the Hogs.
Freshman linebacker Weston Dacus suffered a broken big toe on his right foot in Sunday’s workout. Dacus is expected to return to practice early next week.
