2010 Razorback Spring Volleyball Schedule

FAYETTEVILLE – With individual workouts behind it, the University of Arkansas volleyball team will hit the road this weekend as it begins the 2010 spring exhibition schedule. The Razorbacks will participate in three tournaments and host two matches at Barnhill Arena as part of the five-date schedule.

Arkansas opens with the 5th Annual Texas Tornados College Spring Tournament in Houston. The two-day event will feature opponents from New Mexico State, SMU and Wichita State for the Razorbacks. The rest of the field includes teams from Baylor, Lamar, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, LSU, McNeese State, Rice, TCU, Texas State and Tulane.

The Razorbacks will stay in Houston for Spring Break to train before its next tournament hosted by Rice the following weekend. In addition to facing the host team, Arkansas will also take on Baylor, Miami and Texas A&M.

After two weekends on the road, the Hogs return to Fayetteville to play in the Razorback Alumni match. The contest will be held April 3 at Barnhill Arena. Arkansas also closes out its spring schedule at home, hosting Missouri State at Barnhill on April 24. Times for the home spring dates will be announced as they become available.

Sandwiched in between the two home dates is a trip to Overland Park, Kan., and a tournament played at Blue Valley West High School. During the event, the Razorbacks will play teams from Creighton, Kansas State and Saint Louis.

Arkansas’ challenging spring slate features six teams-Baylor, Miami, Rice, Saint Louis, Texas A&M and Wichita State-that played in the 2009 NCAA Volleyball Tournament. For continued coverage of Razorback volleyball, log on to ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
