FAYETTEVILLE – There are plenty of events for fans surrounding Saturday’s Southwest Classic featuring 11th-ranked Arkansas and Texas A&M from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The festivities kick off Friday with the Razorback Rally at Cowboys Stadium from 7:30-midnight. That event, hosted by the Dallas Alumni Chapter and the Greater Dallas Razorback Club, takes place at the North Main Level Club. Hog fans will enjoy live music from The KLOCKS, along with special guest emcee David Bazzel. Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 after noon on Friday, October 8. Tickets may be purchased online at ArkansasAlumni.org/southwestclassic or by calling the Association at 1-888-275-2586. Advance registration is encouraged.
On Saturday, the West Plaza opens at 10:30 a.m. to fans with tickets to the game. The Southwest Classic parade begins at 10:30 with Texas A&M. Arkansas begins its portion at 10:45. A map of the parade route can be found here. Tusk IV, who will join the band and spirit squads in the parade, will remain in the plaza until after kickoff. The Razorback pep rally is slated to begin at noon from the West Plaza. Fayetteville’s own Ultra Suede will entertain fans from 11 a.m.-noon and again from 12:30-1:30 at the plaza.
The second annual Southwest Classic begins at 2:30 p.m. and will be shown on ABC. Arkansas won last season’s inaugural classic 47-19. Gates open at 12:30, with suite holders and $300 ticket holders being able to enter beginning at 11:30 a.m. Following the game, there will be an on-field trophy presentation to the winning team.
For those attending the game, parking is available around Cowboys Stadium beginning at 9:30 a.m. Directional signage near the stadium directs patrons to designated lots, as well as general parking. The Texas Rangers host the Tampa Bay Rays in an MLB Division Series playoff game beginning at 4 p.m., so an early arrival is encouraged.
Tickets are still available and can be purchased online at ArkansasRazorbacks.com or by calling the ticket office at 800-928-HOGS before the end of business Thursday. Online sales will remain open until midnight.
