29th-ranked women's tennis hosting SEC foes

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Southeastern Conference action at home begins on Friday at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center for the 29th-ranked University of Arkansas Razorback women’s tennis team.

The Hogs (6-3, 1-1)) will host the 13th-ranked Kentucky Wildcats on Friday at 12 p.m. and will conclude this weekend’s home-stand on Sunday at 11 a.m. against No. 27 Vanderbilt.

“We are looking forward to hosting Kentucky and Vanderbilt this weekend,” said Arkansas head coach Michael Hegarty. “We did some good things last weekend (at Alabama and Auburn) and will look to build on that at home.”

Arkansas is 5-2 at home, with losses against No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 41 Southern Methodist.

The Wildcats (9-1, 1-1) won their first nine matches of the season before losing to No. 22 South Carolina over the weekend. Kentucky boasts No. 86 Megan Broderick in singles as their only ranked player.

Vanderbilt split their first SEC weekend, dropping South Carolina at home before losing to No. 23 Florida. The Commodores (4-2, 1-1) have three players ranked in singles, Catherine Newman (28), Jackie Wu (55) and Keilly Ulery (106).
