2013 || INDOOR: Franks capped his indoor season with his first career SEC title, running the 400-meter leg of Arkansas' victorious distance-medley relay. He was also the Razorbacks' top performer in the heptathlon at the SEC Championships, finishing in third place with a personal-best score of 5,497 points. He posted personal bests in three of the seven events at the indoor meet. Franks' score at the SEC meet was an NCAA top-30 mark for the season.

2012 || INDOOR: Franks turned in a sixth-place finish in the heptathlon at the SEC Championships. He finished the two-day, seven-event competition with a personal-best total of 5,421 points. Along the way, he set personal bests in the 60-meter hurdles, long jump and pole vault. Franks was also part of the third-place 4x400m at the conference meet. In his first collegiate heptathlon, he posted a 10th-place result at the Razorback Invitational with a score of 5,281 points. He capped the multi-event competition with a win at 1,000 meters in a personal-best time of 2:28.94. OUTDOOR: Franks opened the outdoor campaign with competition at the Arkansas Spring Invitational but did not compete the rest of the season. For his work in the classroom, Franks earned a spot on the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll.

2011 || Franks redshirted the season but was recognized for his work in the classroom as a member of the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.

AT SAM BARLOW HS: Franks will join the squad as a Chancellor's Scholar walk-on and will compete in the heptathlon and decathlon. While attending Sam Barlow High School, Franks was the 2010 valedictorian, was the 2010 Oregon State Champion in the high jump and was also a member of the state champion 4x400-meter relay team. Franks holds prep bests of 49.43 in the 400 meters, 171-9 in the javelin and 6-7 in the high jump. He recently won the decathlon at the 2010 USATF National Junior Olympic Championships. Franks scored 6,905 points for the win. Franks' personal-best point total of 6,905 ranks No. 3 among high school athletes during the 2010 outdoor season.

PERSONAL: Born Nov. 8, 1991, he is the son of Larry and Ulrike Franks. As a Chancellor’s Scholar at the University of Arkansas, Franks completed his undergraduate studies in 2.5 years and earned two degrees in December 2012, one in chemistry and one in physics. He earned the chemistry degree as a magna cum laude graduate with a minor in history. Franks was a Fulbright Senior Scholar and posted a 3.96 cumulative grade-point average.
