AVCA All-South Region selection...All-SEC selection...48th in the NCAA with 3.94 kills per set...45th in the NCAA with 4.47 points per set...double-digit kill totals in 26 of 30 matches, 14 matches with at least 15 kills and five 20-kill matches this season...led team with nine double-doubles...named MVP of the Golden Hurricane Classic...posted back-to-back matches of 22 kills in home-and-home series with Kansas...followed with 21 kills in four-set win at Tulsa...hit .353 with 5.17 k/s during the opening weekend of SEC in sweeps of Ole Miss and Mississippi State...matched career high with 22 kills at LSU, follow-up to 21-kill effort at Texas A&M...career-best .391 hitting percentage (12-3-23) against Ole Miss (Nov. 3)...also tallied season-high five total blocks against the Golden Hurricane...tied for second on the team with 26 service aces...had at least one service ace in final 10 matches of the season.

Prior to Arkansas
Hays joins the Razorbacks after spending the first two years of her collegiate career at New Mexico State. The 5-11 outside hitter was a two-time member of the All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) First Team and was twice named to the WAC All-Tournament Team, including Tournament MVP honors this past season. Hays was also an honorable mention selection to the 2012 AVCA All-West Region Team. In her first collegiate season, the Hereford, Texas, native was the 2011 AVCA West Region and WAC Freshman of the Year after averaging 4.94 points per set, 4.42 kills per set and 2.53 digs per set. In two seasons at New Mexico State, Hays totaled 986 kills including a 500-kill campaign in 2011, 67 service aces and 23 double-double performances.

Born Nov. 8, 1992, Meredith Anne Hays is the daughter of John and Polly Hays of Hereford, Texas, and has an older sister, Jane. Hays is planning to major in child development at Arkansas.
