FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas baseball team moved up in multiple national polls released Monday after completing another weekend sweep to improve to 6-0 this season.

Arkansas is ranked 22nd this week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. The Razorbacks are 24th in the Baseball America poll and 27th in the Collegiate Baseball poll, which ranks the top 30 teams in the country.

Arkansas has swept its first two three-game series for the first time since 2011 by taking all three games of the season-opening series from Appalachian State and three more from Eastern Illinois this past weekend. The Razorbacks have been led by stellar starting pitching, with Jalen Beeks, Chris Oliver and Alex Phillips combining for an earned-run average of 0.98 by allowing three earned runs in 27.2 innings pitched. At the plate, freshman Andrew Benintendi leads the team with a .538 on-base percentage from his leadoff spot, preseason All-American Brian Anderson is pacing the team with his .458 batting average and is tied with sophomore team captain Tyler Spoon for the team lead with nine RBI.

The Razorbacks conclude their 10-game home stand with three games against South Alabama this weekend and one against IPFW on Monday, March 3. Arkansas and South Alabama have game times of 3:05 p.m. Friday, 12:05 p.m. Saturday and 1:05 p.m. Sunday, and Monday's game starts at 3:05 p.m. For ticket information, click here.
