BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Arkansas senior Hall Fess has been named to the SEC Community Service team for the second consecutive year, as announced Tuesday by the league office in Birmingham, Ala.

The SEC sponsors Service Community Teams in all 21 sports and looks to highlight athletes from the SEC who gives back to their community in superior service efforts. Fess has made as much of an impact off the court as he has on the court and plans to continue giving back after graduating in May, committing the next two years to work with Teach For America in his home state of Arkansas.

In addition to the SEC Community Service team, Fess has been nominated for the 2014 H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship by the University of Arkansas. The H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship has been presented by the Southeastern Conference since 1986 to the league’s top male and female scholar-athletes.

Fess will earn his degree in supply chain management with minors in economics and German, graduating Cum Laude in May 2014. He is a four-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete as well as an Academic All-American.

In his senior season, Fess has seen incredible success at the No. 2 doubles position, playing with fellow redshirt senior Pete Thomason. The two have won 18 matches this spring, a team- as well as career-high for both. The pair spent most of the 2014 season ranked in the top 75 by the ITA.

Fess was named to the 2014 SEC Community Service team as a tribute to all of the time he has spent bettering the Fayetteville community through the Potter’s House, Feed Fayetteville and Sweat Hogs programs. Here are a few other examples of Fess's involvement in local community initiatives:
