FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas women’s golf team enjoyed one of the program’s most successful seasons in 2013-14.

Although the year did not end with a National Championship, the successes of this year’s team can easily be measured in records set and program highs.

Maybe one of the most significant accomplishments for this year’s program is the continued success in the class room.  The Razorbacks were honored after earned a perfect 1,000 multiyear APR rate based on scores from the 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 academic years.  This is the five award for the @RazorbackWGolf since the APR public recognition program was initiated.  In addition to this year's selection, the Razorback women's golf program was recognized for the 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons.

Off the links success is no stranger to the Razorback women’s golf team.  Emily Podzielinski was selected as a member of the Southeastern Conferences’ Community Service Team, the 11th selection in as many seasons.

Inside the ropes accomplishments were honored this season as well.  Head coach Shauna Estes-Taylor became Arkansas’ first women’s golf coach named conference coach of the year.  Senior Emily Tubert earned her fourth SEC First-Team honor and was joined by sophomore Gabriela Lopez on the first-team.  Sophomore Regina Plasencia was an All-SEC Second-Team selection.

As a team, the Razorbacks tied a program-best winning three tournaments this season.  The first victory came at the rain-shorted Mercedes Benz Collegiate Classic where Arkansas posted a two-round 563 defeating 16 other teams.  The Razorbacks opened the spring with a win at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic and added the LSU Golf Classic title in late March.

And records, well, there were a few.

Individual Player Records

o Gabriela Lopez

* Career Scoring Average: 72.85 (ranks second)
o Emily Tubert
* Career Scoring Average:  72.25

o Team Victories: 3

Although the Razorback women’s golf team exited the NCAA Championship sooner than expected, the season holds many great accomplishments that will continue to strengthen the foundation at Arkansas.

Postseason honors have not yet been released and more recognition for this team is sure to come in the near future and, before the dust settles on this year’s team, the honors and records will attest to the success of this year’s program.
