A Look At BA's Big Day

Senior quarterback Brandon Allen’s 23rd birthday landed on the same day as his final season opener as a Razorback. Not only did two-time team captain celebrate a 48-13 win over UTEP with over 67,000 of his closes friends on Saturday, but set career-bests and continued to etch his name into the program record books along the way.

Below are some of the social media highlights, sights and sounds and a look inside the numbers of Allen’s big day.

MR. 300
It had been two full seasons (25 games) since Arkansas had a 300-yard passer and Allen ended that streak with a career-best 308 yards on an efficient 14-of-18 while finding six different receivers, including three for scores. Allen is one of 21 FBS quarterbacks – only one in the SEC – to throw for 300 yards on the opening week, but the ONLY one to do it in less than 25 pass attempts. Allen is the 10th quarterback in Arkansas history to throw for 300 yards.

SOUNDS
Allen’s second career four-touchdown performance entered some rare air on Saturday, as he joined Tyler Wilson as the only two players in Razorback history to throw four touchdowns in the first half. BA-LL SECURITY
Making his 26th career start – most in the SEC by a quarterback – Allen extended his streak of consecutive passes without an interception to 108. Over the six-game span, Allen has nine touchdowns and Arkansas is 4-2. The streak of 100+ passes without an interception is the second of Allen’s career, backing up the streak of 116 attempts from the early part of 2014.

MOVIN’ ON UP
Joining Ryan Mallett and Tyler Wilson as the only three players in Arkansas history with multiple games of four touchdown passes, Allen moved into a tie for second among active SEC quarterbacks with 38 career touchdowns. Allen is one of 11 players to throw four touchdowns on the opening week of action.
