Since the beginning of school, the Gymbacks have been busy studying, training, and making an impact in the community. The team has participated in several events impacting various Razorback fans. The annual Sweat Hawgs campaign kicked off in September and the team visited two different elementary schools stressing the importance of health and fitness. Jaime Pisani, Michelle Stout, and René Cook visited Butterfield Trail in Fayetteville. Mark Cook along with Amy Borsellino, Scarlett Williams, Genny Salvatore, Stacy Bartlett, and Michelle Stout visited Williams Elementary in Farmington.
The team participated in the Together We Can canned food drive and spent a saturday morning at a local Harps motivating patrons to donate canned goods. The event is a lot of fun and there is usually some bartering, a flip for a can. That same Saturday a group visited with the Newcomers Club on campus. Mark, René, Jordan Salsberg, Kelci Lewis, Michelle Stout, and Katherine Grable spent the evening with club members promoting the program as well as the entire atheltic department.
Arkansas gymnastics continued it’s relationship with the local chapter of the American Heart Association by hosting a birthday party in the gym for a dozen or so two and three year olds. The birthday party was donated to the local chapter for the annual gala and is always a popular item. The party was a success and everyone had a great time.
Up next, the GymBacks will be volunteering their time to assist with the local chapter of the Miracle League. Be sure to check back for photos of the event.
Here are some photos of our recent activites. Enjoy! GymBacks Rock!
