Andrew Dahl Named to First-Team All-SEC
BY ANDRES FOCIL
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – For the second-straight year senior Andrew Dahl earned first-team All-Southeastern Conference honors, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. Dahl is having an excellent senior campaign and is only the third Razorback to earn the honor two-consecutive years. The Uniontown, Ark., native now finds himself in the same company as Bud Still (1994-95) and Craig Lile (2000-01).
“This is a great honor for Andrew (Dahl),” Arkansas head coach Mike Ketcham said. “He certainly deserved it after the great season he had. We’re looking forward to competing in the post season and seeing him excel even more.”
During Dahl’s final season as a Hog he posted seven top-20 finishes, while carding the lowest stroke average on the team (72.3). He also recorded his third-career tournament victory on March 16, at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate, where he fired a career-best and competitive course record round of 64.
Dahl is currently ranked as the No. 52 golfer in the nation and has represented Arkansas in 11 tournaments. Most recently at the SEC Championships on April 18, he tied for eighth place, making him only the second golfer in UA history to finish in the top 15 three years in a row.
As a strong and consistent senior leader Dahl will help the Razorbacks in their quest for a berth to the NCAA Championships. Arkansas must finish in the top 10 of its region in order to advance to nationals on June 1-4. The Hogs will learn their fate when regional assignments are announced on May 10.
