Andrew  Landry Named Second-Team All-SEC Golfer

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas golfer Andrew Landry was named second-team All-SEC on Wednesday after a tremendous sophomore campaign for the Razorbacks.

The Port Neches, Texas, native finished second at the Diet Pepsi Shocker Classic and recorded third places finishes at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate and the Callaway Invitational this season.

He leads the Hogs in scoring average at 72.0 and ranks among the best in the Southeastern Conference. He finished in the top 10 at eight events this season and in the top5 on six of those occasions.

"Andrew came in as a transfer and immediately assumed a leadership role on our golf team,” Arkansas head coach Brad McMakin said. “He performed each and every week and proved he is one of the top golfers in the SEC.”

Landry was the Razorbacks’ top finisher in nine of 13 tournaments this season, including the Wolf Run Intercollegiate, Oklahoma Intercollegiate, John A. Burns Intercollegiate, Callaway Invitational, Border Olympics, Hootie at Bulls Bay, Diet Pepsi Shocker Classic, U.S. Intercollegiate and the SEC Championships.

Landry finished tied for fourth at the SEC Championships two weeks ago after firing a six-over-par 216.

Tennessee’s Jim Kelson was named the SEC Coach of the Year, while Florida’s Billy Horschel was named the Golfer of the Year. Alabama’s Joseph Sykora was named the Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Georgia’s Hudson Swafford was the Freshman of the Year.
