Arkansas Baseball Announces 2002 Schedule

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas baseball team will play 35 home games during the 2002 season including 15 home games against Southeastern Conference opponents.
The Razorbacks open the 2002 season Feb. 10, against Missouri Southern at Baum Stadium with first pitch slated for 2 p.m.
The schedule features several familiar non-conference foes for the Hogs including Long Beach State, Oral Roberts, Pittsburgh (Kan.) State, Oklahoma, Wichita State, Creighton, Missouri, Saint Louis, Oklahoma City, Missouri Valley College and Southwest Missouri State.
The Razorbacks will compete in the University of Texas-Arlington Tournament from Feb. 15-17. Arkansas will play Air Force in the first game of the tournament, then take on Southwest Missouri on day two and Texas-Arlington on day three.
Arkansas opens the SEC schedule on the road against the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens. The Razorbacks and Bulldogs square-off in a three-game series March 15-17.
The Hogs open their home SEC schedule against Western Division rival Alabama on March 22 with a three game set. Other home SEC series include South Carolina April 5-7; Tennessee April 19-21; Kentucky May 3-5 and Auburn May 17-19.
The Razorbacks finished the 2001 campaign with a 27-29 record and an 11-19 SEC mark. The Hogs boasted a 19-8 mark at Baum Stadium last season.
The Hogs return 11 pitchers and five position starters from a year ago including senior infielder Jeff Fletcher and senior pitcher Scott Woods.
