Arkansas Checks In At No. 9 In USTFCCCA Preseason Poll
NEW ORLEANS, LA — The women of Arkansas checked in at No. 9 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Preseason National Coaches Poll, announced Tuesday afternoon
Arkansas leads the way among the two Southeastern Conference teams featured in the preseason poll, with Georgia squeezing in the top-20 at No. 19.
The Razorbacks return four All-SEC performers in Taylor Werner, Carina Viljoen, Ashton Endsley, and 2017 SEC Freshman of the Year Lauren Gregory.
Arkansas finished first at the 2017 SEC Championships and the 2017 NCAA South Central Region Championship, with a 13th place finish at the NCAA Championships.
The 2018 cross country season beings Saturday as reigning SEC Coach of the Year Lance Harter and the Razorbacks travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma to compete at the Hurricane Invitational. The 2018 SEC Cross Country Championships are scheduled to take place Friday, Oct. 26 in Auburn, Ala.

Arkansas was ranked first in two polls released Monday, the Division I Preseason Regional Rankings (South Central) and the Southeastern Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. In the SEC poll, Arkansas was unanimously projected to finish first at the 2018 SEC Championships by its league coaches.
