Arkansas Concludes Preparations for Central Fl

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Razorbacks put the finishing touches on their game plan for the Central Florida Golden Knights with an hour-long workout Thursday afternoon.
The Hogs worked on special teams before finishing the practice session with team drills.
Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt was pleased with the team’s effort and focus this week as they prepare for the 5-4 Golden Knights.
“We had a good mental day,” Nutt said. “We want to finish strong the next 48 hours and not lose our concentration. Hopefully everybody will have their legs back under them for Saturday and be ready to go.”
Nutt said the one of the biggest challenges the Razorbacks face this week is being emotionally ready for the game after coming off last Saturday’s riveting win over Ole Miss.
“The biggest concern our coaches have is making sure everybody is ready physically and mentally,” Nutt said. “I’m counting on our seniors to step up and lead the way. As sore and beat up as we were after Ole Miss, they have come out and really tried to give us everything we asked of them this week.”
Nutt added that Central Florida would not be intimidated by playing in front of a capacity crowd as the Golden Knights have played on the road against Clemson, Syracuse and Virginia Tech this season.
“We knew this would be tough before the season started,” Nutt said. “They are an athletic team. They have played the tough teams on the road so big stadiums and noisy crowds do not phase them. They are a good football team.”
On the injury front, offensive lineman Mark Bokermann is doubtful for the game according Nutt.
“Mark will have a very tough time, I doubt if he will play,” Nutt said. “We are going to start Scott Davenport in his place. Scott deserves it. He has done a good job this week and we trust him.”
Arkansas and Central Florida are slated for a 1 p.m. kickoff at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium this Saturday for homecoming. The game will not be televised.
