COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Arkansas men’s tennis team fell on the road to the No. 7 Texas A&M Aggies Sunday afternoon 4-0 following a rain delay.

“Texas A&M played an excellent match,” said head coach Andy Jackson. “We can do better and will get ready for the Friday match at Ole Miss.”

The Aggies (16-4, 9-0 Southeastern Conference) gained the early edge by winning the doubles point with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, respectively. Play at the top spot, where Arkansas’ No. 37-ranked team of Mike Redlicki and Jose Salazar led 6-5 against A&M’s AJ Catanzariti and Arthur Rinderknech, was suspended at the clinch.

In singles, A&M recorded straight set victories at No. 6, No. 3 and No. 2, respectively, to earn the team victory.

At the clinch, Johan den Toom was showing promising results in the No. 5 spot, leading A&M’s Aleksandre Bakshi, 7-5, 5-4.

Arkansas (13-10, 4-5 SEC) will play its third straight SEC road match on April 7, at Ole Miss. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.
