Arkansas Finishes Eighth at Hall of Fame Invit

HUMBLE, Texas – In the final round of the Hall of Fame Invitational the 16th-ranked Razorbacks shot a 10-over-par 298, but still put together a top 10 finish when they came in eighth with a three-day total of 875 (+11). In the first and second rounds Arkansas registered scores of 283 and 294, respectively, on Redstone Golf Club’s par 72, 7,352-yard golf course.
No. 20 Arizona kept its lead during the entire tournament and came away with an 18-under-par 286. The Wildcat’s Chris Nallen captured the individual title with a 14-under-par 202.
Freshman Matt Bortis and sophomore Paul Bradshaw were the Hogs’ top finishers as they tied for 19th place with a one-over-par 217. Bortis’ best showing came in the first round when he fired a 69. In today’s final round he shot a 73 and in the second round he posted a 75. Bradshaw was unable to maintain his consistent first two round scores of 71 as he turned in a third round of three-over-par 75.
Senior Chad Faucett also shot a 75 in the second and third rounds. His first round of 71 gave him a total of five-over-par 221 to tie for 35th. Senior Andrew Dahl registered a third round performance of 75. In the first and second rounds he shot 72 and 76, respectively, and his tourney score of 223 (+7) placed him in a tie for 47th.
Freshman Beau Glover was unable to move up the leader board as he shot an 11-over-par 83 in the third round to tie for 71st. That gave him a tournament score of 229 (+13) after carding first and second rounds of 73.
After the Razorbacks return from Texas they will enjoy a week off before they compete in the Border Olympics on April 1-3 in Laredo, Texas.
