Arkansas Goes 2-1 in SEC Indoor Consolation Ro

NEW ORLEANS, La. – In Saturday evenings’ consolation rounds at the SEC Coaches Indoor Championships the Hogs won two of their three singles matches to conclude the tournament on a positive note.
“I was pleased with how Talley Parker and Michael Jung performed,” Arkansas head coach Robert Cox said. “Talley came back from defeat on Friday and played real SEC tennis.”
Freshman Michael Jung lost the first set 4-6, but came back and to defeat Mississippi State’s Florent Girod 6-3 and 10-8 in the 10-point tie breaker match. It marked Jung’s second win for the weekend.
Senior Talley Parker also came away with a victory over Kentucky’s Nolan Polley. Parker took the first set 7-6, before losing the second set 4-6. In the third set Parker dominated with a 10-3 result.
Junior transfer Evan Clark put up a good effort, but was defeated by Nick Lane of Auburn 6-2, 6-2.
The Hogs will hold their first home match at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center on Sunday, Jan. 23, at Noon and 4 p.m. Arkansas will take on the Bears of Southwest Missouri State.
