Arkansas Tennis Falls to #30 in Latest ITA Pol

FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. – Arkansas’ tennis team lost both of its matches last week and fell six spots from No. 24 to No. 30 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings.
Arkansas is 10-4 and 1-3 in SEC play on the year. Last week Arkansas faced two highly ranked SEC opponents in then ranked No. 13 Vanderbilt and No. 18 Kentucky, but was unable to come away with victories. Other SEC schools ranked in the latest ITA poll are No. 4 Mississippi, No. 9 Florida, No. 12 Georgia, No. 13 LSU, No. 16 Kentucky, No. 17 Vanderbilt, No. 21 Tennessee, No. 26 Mississippi State, No. 51 Alabama and No. 52 Auburn. Eleven of 12 SEC schools are ranked in the latest poll with South Carolina being the only team left out.
In the latest singles rankings, Arkansas has two players ranked inside the top 100 in the nation. Adrians Zguns, No. 10 in the nation, is 26-7 on the season, and teammate Nathan Price, No. 83 in the nation, is 25-8.
Arkansas faces two opponents this weekend in No. 26 Mississippi State in Starkville, Miss., at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 26, and No. 4 Mississippi on March 28 at 1 p.m. at Arkansas’ UA Outdoor Tennis Complex.
