Arkansas Tennis Returns Home to Face Shockers

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas (3-1) returns home Friday, Feb. 20 to take on the Wichita State Shockers at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center at 5:30 p.m.
Arkansas comes home after a road trip to Chicago, Illinois last weekend that saw the Hogs split two matches, a win against DePaul, 5-2, and a loss against No. 37 Northwestern, 4-3.
“After being off a week it will be good to get back on the court,” head coach Robert Cox said. “It has been a good week of practice. I feel we learned a lot about ourselves in the match against Northwestern, and now we look forward to playing Wichita State.”
Wichita State stands at 2-4 on the season with all four losses coming against ranked teams, No. 26 Tulane, No. 38 Arizona, No. 47 Arizona State, and No. 75 Nebraska. Wichita State brings in a solid doubles lineup highlighted by Juan Escalante and Gabriel Loredo, No. 34 in the nation. No. 25 Arkansas will try to offset the Shockers’ doubles lineup with solid play in the singles lineup. Led by Adrians Zguns, No. 14 in the nation, and Nathan Price, No. 50 in the nation, Arkansas hopes to rebound from its loss last Sunday against the Northwestern Wildcats.
Following Arkansas’ match against Wichita State, the Hogs will face Oral Roberts on Wednesday, Feb. 25 in a two match double header starting at 11 a.m.
