Arkansas Tied for 10th After Two Rounds at Max


ARDMORE, Okla. – After turning in a two round score of 579 for 19 over par Arkansas is tied for 10th place with No. 41 Baylor at the Perry Maxwell Intercollegiate. The Hogs shot first and second round scores of 287 and 292, respectively on the Dornick Hills Country Club’s par 70, 6,442-yard golf course.
Host school and No. 8 Oklahoma State is on top of the leader board with an 11-under-par 549, while Colorado’s Kane Webber is leading the individual competition after he fired a six-under-par 134.
Senior Andrew Dahl had the best showing of Arkansas’ five golfers after he turned in first and second round scores of 70 and 73, respectively. His performance gave him a three-over-par 143 to tie for 26th place. Senior Chad Faucett was next with a five-over-par 145. Faucett posted a first round score of 74, but improved in the second round to shoot a 71.
Senior Seth Murphy and freshman Matt Bortis are tied in 48th with a six-over-par 146. Murphy carded a first round of 71 and a second round of 75. Bortis was the model of consistency with two rounds of 73.
Freshman Beau Glover is the fifth man heading into the final round after he put up a nine-over-par 149. Glover had a first round score of 73 and a second round performance of 76.
Arkansas will conclude the tournament Sunday morning with the third round. After the Razorbacks return from Oklahoma they will prepare for the NCAA Central Regional Championships on May 20-22, as the seventh seed. Arkansas must finish in the top 10 on the Kampen Course of the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in order to advance to the NCAA Championships on June 1-4.
