Arkansas Tops Another Poll

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas men’s cross country team won its first meet of the season last Friday and has been voted to the top of the NCAA South Central Regional Coaches Cross Country Poll for the week of Sept. 13.
“We are very flattered,” UA head coach John McDonnell said. ” We have some really talented guys returning, but we have a lot of work ahead of us to win another national title.”
The Razorbacks, who are looking to claim their 11th national title and 27th consecutive conference title, received all six of the first place votes for 60 points. Other teams in the top five included Tulane (50), SMU (42), Texas (39) and Rice (35).
The Razorbacks’ next race is Saturday morning at the Missouri Southern Invitational in Joplin, Mo.
