INDEPENDENCE, Minn. – The Arkansas men’s golf team leads a 16-team field, including nine nationally ranked teams, at the loaded Gopher Invitational as play was suspended Sunday evening due to darkness at Windsong Farm Golf Club.

After sitting in second place and just one stroke off the lead after the opening 18 holes, Arkansas went to work in the afternoon and shot 1-over to hold a 3-stroke lead on the field when play was suspended due to darkness.

The Razorbacks lead No. 8 Baylor by three shots and defending National Champion and No. 6 Oklahoma by seven strokes. Play will resume Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. CT as teams will complete the second round and keep playing into the third and final round.

Mason Overstreet leads the way after a second round bogey-free 4-under 67 that sent him 12 spots up the leaderboard and alone in fourth place. His 67 is the low round of the championship and he sits just two shots back of the leader.

Alvaro Ortiz is in the top 15 at 2-over, while William Buhl and Charles Kim are T-26th at 4-over and Luis Garza is T-40th at 5-over for the tournament.

Arkansas will tee off Monday morning looking for a team victory for the 12th consecutive season, all coming under head coach Brad McMakin. Over the last 12 years, Arkansas has 24 wins, including 19 during the last seven seasons.

Arkansas also has three players competing at the Gopher Individual as sophomore Dylan Naidoo led the way and is alone in seventh place after rounds of 73-72 – 145 (+1).
