Arkansas-Vandy Baseball Rained Out Again; Team
BY ANDRES FOCIL
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas and Vanderbilt played just two and a half innings of game one of a twin bill before heavy rains forced the teams off the field for the day. The Razorbacks and Commodores will continue Saturday’s first game at 11 a.m. Sunday as part of another double-header.
The two teams will complete the scheduled nine-inning game, with Vanderbilt leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third inning, then play a seven inning contest in game two.
In game one, the Commodores took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. After Hogan retired the first two batters of the inning, Cesar Nicolas laced a double down the right field line. After Sean Luellwitz walked, John Kaye singled off Arkansas first baseman Jeff Fletcher’s glove and rolled into right field. Nicolas came around to score for the first run of the game. Hogan forced John Prothro to pop out to second to end the inning.
If the Razorbacks and Commodores are unable to play Sunday, there will be no make-up games.
