Arkansas vs. Illinois-Chicago Baseball Resched

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas vs. Illinois-Chicago baseball series has been moved up one day and will now open Saturday, March 1, with a double-header beginning at noon.
Game three of the series will now be played Sunday, March 2, also at noon.
The series had originally been moved up to begin on Sunday due to predicted inclement weather on Friday and Saturday. Forecasts for the weekend now call for temperatures in the 40-50 degree range with partly cloudy skies.
Jarrett Gardner will take the mound for Arkansas in game one Saturday, while the Flames will throw lefty Ryan Gehring who posted a 9-1 record with a 2.80 ERA last season. Illinois-Chicago posted a 39-16 record in 2002.
Gardner opens the series for the Razorbacks with a 2-0 record and a 2.53 ERA. Gardner has fanned seven batters in 10.2 innings of work this season and is holding opponents to a .179 batting average, which is tied for seventh-best in the Southeastern Conference.
Additionally, the Razorbacks are 5-0 this season and are off to their best start since the 1998 seasonwhen they opened with five straight victories. Arkansas is one of only two teams in the SEC to remain unbeaten in the early going. The Razorbacks currently lead the SEC Western Division, while Tennessee leads the SEC Eastern Division with an 8-0 mark.
