Noting the RazorbacksArkansas (39-22, 14-15 SEC) won the NCAA Tallahassee Super Regional by defeating the No. 5 Florida State Seminoles, 7-2 and 9-8 … Arkansas’ victory at the Super Regional advances it to the College World Series for the sixth time in school history and the second time in six years (2004) … Andrew Darr came through in his one start for the Hogs going 4-5 at the plate with a home run and the game-winning double in the bottom of the ninth which scored two runs … The Hogs are 5-0 since the SEC Tournament with five wins over ranked opponents … The Razorbacks took a huge jump in the national polls after winning the NCAA Norman Regional, moving to No. 16 unanimously … Arkansas’ trip to the College World Series is the second under head coach Dave Van Horn and is Van Horn’s fourth trip as a head coach (Nebraska-2, Arkansas-2) … Aside from Andrew Darr’s heroics on Saturday, freshman Bo Bigham continued to have a fantastic post season as the true freshman batted .429 for the weekend with a double and two RBI … Fellow freshman Zack Cox also hit well (.375) and set the Arkansas freshman record for home runs in a season with his 12th against Florida St. … Cox was also named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American earlier in the week … Closer Stephen Richards was named a Ping! Baseball Second-Team All-American … Arkansas’ bullpen was very good against Florida St., especially the tandem of Mike Bolsinger and T.J. Forrest who combined to go 1-0 over 7.2 innings, giving up just four hits, three walks, and seven strike outs, while not allowing a single run … The Razorbacks were also featured prominently on ESPN’s SportsCenter with a pair of plays making the daily top 10 and one making the best of the week – Brett Eibner’s catch while crashing into the center field wall on Friday afternoon against Florida St. was the first daily honor and was followed by Andrew Darr’s game-winning two-RBI double that won the Super Regional which made not just the daily top 10 plays, but also the weekly top 10 … Interestingly, Arkansas’ last two trips to the College World Series (2009, 2004) and four of their six trips overall (1979 & 1985) have all gone through Florida St. – Arkansas won the Tallahassee Super Regional this season, defeated Florida St. in the Fayetteville Super Regional in 2004 and traveled to Tallahassee for the 1979 East Regional and 1985 South II Regional … The Razorbacks seek their 15th 40-win season in school history at the College World Series and first since 2007.
