Arkansas continues SEC play at Auburn Sunday

AUBURN, Ala. – The University of Arkansas volleyball team continues Southeastern Conference action at Auburn Sunday. The Lady Razorbacks fell to 10-7 overall and 3-6 in SEC action after a solid performance against No. 8 Florida. The Lady’Backs face a much-improved Auburn team who enters the match 11-9 overall and 3-6 in the SEC. “This is a very important match for us,” said Arkansas head coach Chris Poole. “We want to get back in the wins column and back on track in the SEC race. I was encouraged by some of the things I saw at Florida and we’re heading into Auburn hoping to play more consistently and up to our potential.” Arkansas has lost four in a row in league play but has shown a spark in recent matches. Senior Denitza Koleva continues to play well and recorded her 11th double-double for kills and digs against the Gators on Friday. Sunday’s match with the Tigers also represents the halfway point of the conference season for the entire league in the new round robin format. “After Sunday, we will have seen all the teams in the SEC once,” said Poole. “Everyone has been beating up on everyone else at this point. It will be interesting to see what happens the second time around.” Sunday’s match will air live in the Northwest Arkansas area on KXUA, 88.3 FM, and on the internet at LADYBACKS.COM. The Lady Razorbacks return home hosting No. 18 Tennessee and Kentucky Friday and Sunday. For more information or tickets, please call the Lady Razorback Ticket Office at 57-LBACK.
