Arkansas fourth Lewis tied for fifth at Mercedes

Jump to final round results FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The 27th-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team rebounded for a fourth-place finish paced by a tie for fifth from junior Stacy Lewis at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Classic in Franklin, Tenn., Sunday. Arkansas finished with a final round 295 for a season-best 894 (303-296-295) just four strokes behind Southeastern Conference rival Auburn in third. Lewis, a Woodlands, Texas, native vaulted up the leader board Saturday with a two-under 69 and combined that with a one-under 70 Sunday for 218 (79-69-70), leading Arkansas. Sophomore Lucy Nunn chimed in with a 221 (74-76-71) followed by freshman Alex Schulte who counted a 223 (70-79-74). Nunn finished 13th while Schulte tied for 15th overall. Freshman Corinna Rees tied for 48th overall with a 234 (80-74-80), followed by junior Ashley Medders who tied for 70th with a 243 (85-77-81). Freshman Tanica van As, playing as an individual, finished 77th with a 250 (82-82-86). Top-ranked Georgia and No. 15 Tennessee tied for the win with 887, followed by No. 17 Auburn in third with an 887. The Swedish Junior National Team was fifth with a 900, followed by No. 33 Furman (901), No. 23 Florida (903), No. 21 North Carolina (909), No. 31 SMU (910), No. 30 Kent State (912), No. 11 Michigan State (915), No. 75 Penn State (920), No. 39 Alabama (924), No. 13 Northwestern (928) and No. 14 Michigan (927) as the Lady’Backs finished better than several teams ranked ahead of them.
