Arkansas Golf Finishes Fourth at Wolf Run Intercollegiate

Zionsville, Ind. – The Razorback golf team earned its second top-five result in as many events with a fourth-place finish at the Wolf Run Intercollegiate in Zionsville, Ind. Arkansas shot a final-round 294 team score to climb from sixth to fourth position during the final day of competition at the Wolf Run Golf Club. Arkansas finished 29 shots over par and carded an 881 over the three-round event. UA was led by sophomore David Lingmerth and his five-over-par 218, which landed the transfer in a tie for 16th place on the individual leaderboard. Lingmerth shot a final-round one-under-par 70. Junior Andrew Landry finished in a tie for 19th after shooting a 219 (+6) during the weekend. Senior Barrett Lais was Arkansas’ third finisher with a 23rd-place result and an eight-over-par 221.

Playing in their first event of the season, junior Jason Turner and freshman Alan Lee carded scores of 223 (+10) and 233 (+20), respectively. Turner finished the weekend in a tie for 29th place, while Lee tied for 64th position.

The Razorbacks finished four shots ahead of conference opponent Kentucky, which finished with a share of the fifth-place spot. The team from Penn State won the tournament with a ten-over-par 862. Michigan’s Nick Pumford won the individual title following his three-under-par performance.

Arkansas will return to the Hoosier state for the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic beginning Friday at the Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind. Log on to www.hogwired.com for more news about Razorback golf.
