Arkansas Netters Host Wichita St. Sunday at 1 p.m.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas returns to action Sunday, as the Razorbacks host regional opponent Wichita St. at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center in Fayetteville.

The match is set for 1 p.m. The Dills Center is located across from Bud Walton Arena on Razorback Road. Admission is free and there will be free pizza and beverages for fans.

The Razorbacks, ranked 46th in the latest ITA rankings, and Shockers (2-1) met in both teams’ season-opener January 21 at the ITA Central Region Indoor Championships in Tulsa, Okla. UA dealt WSU a 4-0 defeat, and went on to claim the Central Region title.

Arkansas (6-1) suffered their first defeat in their last match, falling, 4-3, to 20th-ranked Texas. The Hogs are off to their best start since 2004, when UA began the year 8-1. The 2004 Razorbacks went on to the Sweet 16.

The Shockers are coming a win Friday against Missouri-Kansas City. It was the second consecutive win for WSU.

After hosting Wichita St., the Razorbacks head to Seattle, Wash. for next weekend’s ITA National Indoor Championships. The Razorbacks will face No. 3 Illinois, the 2004 National indoor Champion, in the opening round. The first-round match is set for 5:30 at the Seattle Tennis Club.

The Hogs’ next home match is Friday, March 3 against 2nd-ranked Georgia. It will be the conference opener for Arkansas, and is slated for 1:30 p.m.
