· Arkansas won the coin toss for the eighth time in nine games this season. The only game Arkansas did not win the toss was against Ole Miss. In that game, Felix Jones returned the opening kick 100 yards for a touchdown. The Razorbacks deferred after winning the toss against South Carolina.
· Cornerbacks Darius Vinnett and John Johnson each made their first start of the season in a multiple-defensive back set.
· Marcus Monk’s 18-yard reception from Casey Dick in the first quarter extended his streak of consecutive games with a catch to 31, which is every game of the junior’s career. That streak ranked 11th in the nation coming into the weekend.
· Monk’s 50-yard touchdown reception at the end of the first half is his sixth for the season and the 19th of his career, which ranks second to Anthony Lucas (23) on the school’s all-time chart.
· Monk also went over the 100-yard mark for the game, his second of the season and the second of his career. He set career highs with 192 yards and eight catches. His previous bests were 124 yards on five catches earlier this year at Vanderbilt and seven receptions at South Carolina in 2004.
· Monk’s 192-yard total ranks as the fifth-best single-game total in school history and the best since 1999. Monk’s eight receptions tie for the 14th-best single-game mark in school history.
· Darren McFadden’s 43-yard touchdown run in the first quarter gives him a rushing score in six consecutive contests. He has eight TDs over that stretch with one against Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss and Louisiana-Monroe, and two against South Carolina and Southeast Missouri State.
· McFadden’s rushing touchdowns give him 21 for his career, which ties Quinn Grovey for 10th on Arkansas’ all-time list.
· McFadden’s two rushing touchdowns give him 10 for the season, which ties for 12th-best on UA’s season chart.
· McFadden recorded the 10th 100-yard rushing game of his career, finishing with 219 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. He’s rushed for 100 or more yards in 10 of 20 career games. The 219-yard total ties for the fourth-best single-game total (James Rouse, 19-219 vs. New Mexico, 1987) in school history.
· With his 219-yard effort, McFadden has tied Fred Talley for the school record with four career games of 180 yards or more.
· McFadden has 1,038 yards this year after running for 1,113 last year, becoming just the third back in school history to record multiple 1,000-yard rushing seasons.
· McFadden’s 1,038 yards this year rank as the ninth-best season total in school history.
· McFadden’s rushing total pushed him over 2,000 yards for his career, making him the first sophomore in school history to top the 2,000-yard career rushing mark. He now has 2,151 yards for his career, which ranks 11th on UA’s career list.
· Through the first half, Arkansas’ defense had allowed just two touchdowns in its last 16 quarters, since the second half of the Auburn game. USC scored a TD in the third quarter.
· Arkansas ran its streak of consecutive games with a score to a school-record 130 games. The last time the Razorbacks failed to score was Nov. 18, 1995, in a 28-0 loss at LSU.
· Anthony Brown’s blocked punt in the second quarter was recovered in the USC end zone by Gamecock Lanard Stafford, giving Arkansas a safety. The safety is the second in two weeks for the Hogs. Last week, against Louisiana-Monroe, Matt Hewitt had a tackle in the ULM end zone for a safety, which was UA’s first since Clarke Moore had a stop in the end zone against Mississippi State 2002.
· Fullback Farod Jackson’s third-quarter reception of 18 yards was the first of his career.
