Arkansas prepares for Jacksonville State

FAYETTEVILLE -The 10th-ranked University of Arkansas football team continued practice on the new UA practice fields on Tuesday in preparation for its opening game against Jacksonville State on Saturday inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Paul Petrino spoke with the media after practice on the team’s performance at practice so far this week.

"We have had two good practices this week," Coach Petrino said. "I think you can feel the excitement, anticipation and energy getting better every day and that is what we need."

Coach Petrino also commented on the offensive line’s progress throughout preseason.

"I think they have made great improvement in the past 10 days," Coach Petrino said. "I really think they have come along the last two times it’s been live tackle. They have run blocked much better and they continue to improve on the pass protection every day."

Kickoff for Saturday’s game is set for 6:00 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on PPV. Fans should contact their cable and satellite providers for ordering information.
