Run Rachel RunSenior Rachel LeMaster holds the career stolen base record with the 75 stolen bases. On April 15 in Oxford, Miss., LeMaster earned her 20th stolen base of the season and the 73rd of her career to break the previous record of 72 held by Dana Gulick from 1997-2000.
Huckabee Sets Career Home Run RecordJunior Dayna Huckabee set the career home run record blasting the 13th homer of her career in a win against Mississippi State Saturday. The previous record was 12 held by Jen Cirigliano from 1997-2000.
Single-Season Home Run RecordThe 2007 Arkansas softball team set the single-season home run record smashing 28 home runs this season. The previous record was 19 set in 2005.
Dixon Ties Single-Season Home Run RecordFreshman Miranda Dixon hit seven home runs this season and tied the single-season record at Arkansas. The record was held by Courtney Mitchell in 2002.
Single-game Home Run RecordThe Lady’Backs hit three home runs, a team single-game record, in three contests this season: March 4 against Louisiana-Monroe, March 18 against Nebraska and April 18 against Louisiana Tech. Versus the Lady Techsters Arkansas hit back-to-back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning.
Dixon Homers Twice at Lady’Back YardDixon marked a new Lady’Back Yard record, hitting two home runs in a game on March 4. Dixon went 7-for-7 with three home runs, seven RBIs and four runs on the day.
Bachkora Breaks Season Triple RecordFreshman Jessica Bachkora broke the school record for most triples in a single season. Bachkora hit her fifth triple of the year in game two against Georgia. The previous record was four triples, held most recently by Danica White in 2002.
Bachkora Breaks Single-game Triple RecordBachkora broke the school record for most triples in a single game on Feb. 25 against Missouri. Bachkora hit two triples, breaking the previous record of one.
Record-Breaking Game OneIn the first game of the series against Kentucky, Arkansas tied the single game records for most runs scored (14) and most hits (19), and broke the record for most runs batted in (14). The previous record of 19 hits was in a 19-inning game against Alabama in 1999, while the 2007 Lady’Backs tallied their 19 hits in just seven innings.
Another Single Game RecordSophomore Whitney Cloer broke the single game record for most hits in a game with five. Cloer was 5-for-5 with four RBIs, two runs scored, two doubles and one home run March 31 against Kentucky.
LeMaster Finishes Career Second in HitsLeMaster finished second on the career list for most hits with 219. The current record is 224 held by Danica White.
Fanning the OpponentJunior Katy Henry fanned 224 batters this year, putting her second for most strikeouts in an individual season. Henry now holds the second and third spots (219) for most strikeouts in a season.
Leading the WayBachkora led the Lady’Backs offensively the entire season and finished the year with a team-high .291 batting average, 30 runs, 58 hits, 10 doubles, five triples, and a .338 on-base percentage.
Pinkerton’s 200th WinHead coach Jamie Pinkerton picked up the 200th win of his career as a Division I head coach Sunday, April 1, in the final game of the Kentucky series.
Bring Out the BroomArkansas swept its only SEC series against Kentucky, March 31-April 1. The last time the Lady’Backs swept an SEC opponent was against Kentucky in 2005.
