Arkansas Fall InvitationalArkansas hosts the Arkansas Fall Invitational Saturday at Lady’Back Yard. The Lady Razorbacks welcome Rogers State University, Oklahoma Baptist University and Carl Albert State College.
Saturday, Sept. 16The Lady Razorbacks continued their winning ways going 3-0 at the Lady’Back Fall Festival. Arkansas defeated Connors State College, Northeastern Oklahoma and Neosho County Community College for a 3-0 record in the tournament and a perfect 6-0 record for the fall season.
SlugfestFreshman outfielder Jessica Bachkora from Overland Park, Kan. led the Lady’Back offense in their last fall tournament with a .700 batting average. She was 7-for-10 with seven RBIs, six runs, a triple and an in-the-park home run.
More offenseEight Lady Razorbacks batted .500 or better while Arkansas’ offense tallied a .390 batting average.
Extra basesSophomores Sandra Smith and Hillary Freeman both doubled on the day while sophomore Dayna Huckabee and freshman Jessica Bachkora each collected a triple. Bachkora also laced an in-the-park home run to right-center field.
Throwing fireAs a pitching staff, the Lady’Back hurlers combined for 27 strikeouts and only 4 walks. They earned a 0.00 ERA and held their opponents to a .145 batting average. Leading the crew with 12 strikeouts in five and two-thirds innings pitched was junior Katy Henry.
Run awayArkansas put up 37 runs last tournament and posted double-figure hits in wins against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (13) and Neosho County Community College (12).
ShutoutsFreshman Teighynne Hulsey and junior Katy Henry kept their opponents scoreless on the mound. Hulsey earned her first shutout while Henry collected her second.
SluggersSenior Rachel LeMaster and sophomore Carrie Egnor each recorded three RBIs in the Lady’Back Fall Festival.
What a game!Against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, the Lady’Backs tallied 13 runs on 13 hits adding 12 RBIs. Arkansas’ defense was errorless for the game and pitcher Katy Henry allowed no runs and struck out 11.
Overall StatsEleven Lady’Backs carry a season batting average above .300. Carrie Egnor (.750) and Jess Reed (.625) lead the offense. Egnor is 3-for-4 and Reed is 5-for-8.
Freshmen, Freshmen and more FreshmenFreshmen Jessica Bachkora, Teighynne Hulsey and Brittany Robison keep the offense rolling, driving in 8, 6, and 5 runs a piece for the fall season.
SeptemberThe Lady’Backs compete three out of the five weekends in September. The fall season began Sept. 10 with the Arkansas Fall Festival. It continued Sept. 16 with the Lady’Back Fall Festival and ends this weekend.
