“The players are excited,” said head coach Jamie Pinkerton. “It’s another trip down to Central Arkansas to give the fans there an opportunity to see our team compete. Sherwood’s a festive place to play and the last two years it’s been a huge success. Hopefully the weather won’t keep people away. We’re really looking forward to playing in Sherwood.”

The Lady’Backs started playing in Central Arkansas in 2006. Arkansas is undefeated at Sherwood, beating Louisiana-Monroe its first year, 3-2 and 4-3, and downing Louisiana Tech last season, 1-0 and 5-4.

Arkansas has also had great response from fans in the area with record-setting attendance figures of 2,187 in 2006 and 2,930 in 2007.

“We have a chance to step out of conference play this week and have an opportunity to work on some things and hopefully get us back in the swing of things,” said Pinketon.

The Lady’Backs will hold autograph sessions before the games, from 2:45 – 4 p.m., and at the conclusion of the doubleheader. The Sherwood Sports Complex is located at 511 Bear Paw Drive.
