"Last weekend was a very exciting but physically and mentally draining weekend," head coach Mike Larabee said. "I believe that at this point we know that no matter who we play that if we play to our potential that we can knock off and compete with anybody in the country."

Last weekend, Arkansas (5-5) handed the No. 1 Bruins of UCLA a 4-3 loss in the first game of the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic in Las Vegas, Nev. The Hogs fell in the next three games over the weekend, but redeemed themselves in the final game of the tournament with an 8-7 win over Utah. The win over the defending national champions marked the first time in Arkansas softball history that the Razorbacks have beaten a top-ranked team. The Razorbacks first faced No. 1 Tennessee in 2007 and lost all of the three-game series.
