A new Home for the Hogs on the internet opened this July as ArkansasRazorbacks.com became the official website of the University of Arkansas athletic department.
ArkansasRazorbacks.com replaces the two current websites – Hogwired.com for men’s teams and LADYBACKS.com for women’s teams. The new website covers all 19 sports at the University of Arkansas, and adds new features to keep fans up-to-date on Razorback athletics. Special internet-only feature stories on Razorback athletes, behind the scenes looks into Arkansas athletics created by coaches and athletes and expanded video coverage are part of the new website.
It was a busy opening couple of weeks for the new website living up to the commitment to become the first place Razorback fans look for scores and information about Arkansas athletics.
ArkansasRazorbacks.com was the only university-based website to cover the entire SEC Football Media Days, providing video features of all three days. A special behind-the-scenes feature from the point of view of head coach Bobby Petrino for media day was one of the first insider packages.
The new website is more than just football with an athlete-by-athlete countdown of the Razorbacks headed to represent their respective countries at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and had full coverage of the hiring of the new volleyball and men’s track and field coaching staffs.
Among the new features set to roll out later this summer are an official podcast from Razorback athletics and special fan guide pages for Razorback visitors to Fayetteville. Beginning on Aug. 30, Game Day coverage of Razorback home football games will include live blogs from home games and a special on-line pregame event to go with the live game stats and streaming audio of the game.
RazorVision takes over the premium website content from Hogwired’s RazorZone and LADYBACK.com’s All-Access. All current members of the Hogwired premium area will roll over automatically into RazorVision.
RazorVision provides live streaming audio from ARSN broadcasts of football and men’s basketball, Razorback baseball network and streaming audio from women’s sporting events.
Providing more streaming video than ever before, RazorVision members receive live coverage of baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, gymnastics, soccer and volleyball. Starting this season, RazorVision adds softball and swimming.
Among the new features rolling out in the weeks following launch are interactive 360-degree views of Razorback facilities, new pages for the Razorback spirit squads and a new mobile phone friendly version of the website.
