FAYETTEVILLE – The Arkansas Razorback football team is seated at No. 17 in Athlon Sports’ preseason top 25, it was released on Tuesday.
Head coach Bobby Petrino’s squad, at preseason No. 17, saw eight players selected as All-SEC performers. Athlon Sports predicts Arkansas will finish second in the Southeastern Conference’s West Division.
Athlon named quarterback Ryan Mallett and tight end D.J. Williams First-Team All-America. Both players also join the All-SEC First Team along with wide receiver Greg Childs. Wide receiver Joe Adams and offensive lineman DeMarcus Love are named Second-Team All-SEC. Defensive lineman Jake Bequette, linebacker Jerry Franklin and kick returner Dennis Johnson made the All-SEC Third Team.
