Bill's Blog: Bring your cans

Morning has broken, but not exactly a sunrise so far in Fayetteville.

Long time residents or frequent travelers know these foggy daybreaks in the foothills of the Ozarks. Very pretty unless you are trying to fly into or out of Drake Field. The south end of Fayetteville holds the ground fog, and today’s start typical.

When the game crew arrived, the sun hadn’t at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. However, the fog will burn off in an hour or so, and we will have a perfect September afternoon for football.

As we get set for today’s blog, let me remind those of you heading to the stadium to remember to bring a canned food item for the Together We CAN food drive sponsored by the Razorback Student-Athletic Advisory Committee and the Southeastern Conference.

Drop your cans at gates 1, 9, 12 or 16 today, and those donations will be taken to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank to assist local persons in need in our four-county area of Northwest Arkansas.

For those tailgating today, don’t forget to email your tailgate pictures to my regular university account — bismith@uark.edu. I’ll post a few of the best we get today.

For those distant, remember today’s pregame will stream from 10 a.m. to kickoff for RazorVision members. The video stops at kickoff due to league rules, and today the game is televised on Raycom. Audio is available as usual through RazorVision.

For now, off to the press box; we’ll see you on the regular blog in a couple of hours.
