HUMBLE, Texas – Matt Bortis fired his second consecutive sub-par round as Arkansas finished 14th at the Hall of Fame Invitational on Sunday at the Redstone Golf Club. After opening with a 77, Bortis, a sophomore from Springfield, Mo., closed with rounds of 68 and 69 to finish tied for 11th individually with a two-under-par 214. Freshman Scotty Campbell, from Conway, shot even-par 72 on Sunday following rounds of 72 and 73 to finish with a one-over 217 and give the Razorbacks two players in the top 20 by tying for 15th. Arkansas shot a 299 in the third round to remain in 14th place in the 19-team tournament. UA shot 309 in the first round to open in 15th and moved to 14th with a second-round 288. Eric Shriver had rounds of 80-73-81 and Josh Farrell shot 82-74-78 to each tie for 83rd with totals of 234. Will Osborne tied for 96th with a 237 on rounds of 80-77-80. Oklahoma State won the team title with an 846, holding off second-place Nevada-Las Vegas by two shots. New Mexico was third (865), followed by Texas A&M (878), Arizona and TCU (879), Purdue (880), Texas, South Carolina-Aiken, Oklahoma and Kentucky all tied for eighth (881), Wake Forest (888), Vanderbilt (895), Arkansas (896), California (897), Houston and Penn State (904), Rice (921) and Gustavus Adolphus (951). UA’s next tournament is March 27 in the NIT Invitational at Tucson, Ariz.
