Boyer named academic all-district

FAYETTEVILLE – Junior Lane Boyer, a member of the Arkansas Razorback men’s track and field team, has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team.His name will now be placed on the ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America voting.

At the 2010 SEC Indoor Championships,Boyer finished sixth in the 3,000 metersand seventh in the 5,000 meters. His season bests in the events rank No. 3 (8:00.25) and No. 8 (14:08.60) in the SEC. His outdoor best in the 10,000 meters(28:52.25 ) ranks No. 3 in the SEC and No. 15 in the NCAA. In cross country, he was eighth at the SEC Championships, earning All-SEC honors, and finished seventh at the NCAA Regional Championships, earning all-region honors.Boyer was Arkansas’ fourth runner at the NCAA Championships. The Fredonia, Kan. native is a three-time member of the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.

Arkansas will becompete nextat the NCAA Championships, in Eugene, Ore., June 9-12.
